Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator & Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to assist in various construction projects. The candidate MUST have septic, sewer & concrete experiance. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Excavator Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment, including bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks, to perform excavation tasks.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Perform tasks such as digging trenches, grading land, and moving materials as required by the project.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate work activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with horizontal drilling operations when necessary.
- Operate water trucks for dust control on construction sites.
- Respond promptly to any equipment malfunctions or issues during operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with excavators.
- Familiarity with additional machinery such as backhoes, loaders, tankers, and dump trucks is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and safety practices.
- Understand and read construction drawings
- Able to shoot grades using field laser.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for operating heavy machinery.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Valid driver's license; certification for operating heavy machinery is preferred but not mandatory.
- CDL license preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
