About the Role
We’re looking for a dirt-loving, no-nonsense leader who lives for moving earth faster, cleaner, and smarter than anyone else. This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who can run a site and run a crew.
You’ll coordinate every cut, every fill, every pipe run, and every trucking cycle. You’ll keep the crew motivated, the equipment productive, the grade right, and the job moving. If a problem pops up, you’re already fixing it. If something’s missing, you noticed yesterday.
If you can read a set of plans in your sleep, turn a slow crew into a machine, and still go home at night knowing the grade is perfect and nobody got hurt—we want you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead From the Front
- Be the first one on site and the last one off—boots in the mud, fully in it.
- Motivate operators and laborers, set the pace, and keep morale high even when the weather is brutal.
- Hold the team accountable while creating a productive, respectful, safety-driven environment.
Plan, Coordinate & Execute
- Own daily planning: sequence cuts, fills, pipe installation, and trucking cycles.
- Make sure the right machines, pipe, materials, and subs show up exactly when they’re supposed to.
- Review plans, schedules, and scopes to anticipate manpower, equipment, and material needs before they become problems.
- Work directly with project managers, survey crews, and inspectors.
Drive Relentless Production
- Optimize cycle times, truck counts, benches, and operator flow to hit or beat the schedule.
- Identify bottlenecks and remove them on the spot.
- Keep the job moving—no stall-outs, no dead time.
Quality & Problem Solving
- Ensure grades, elevations, compaction, and layout meet spec—every time.
- Spot soft spots, drainage issues, survey errors, or layout problems before they become rework.
- Implement corrective actions immediately and keep the momentum rolling.
Safety Management
- Enforce safety like it’s personal—because it is.
- Conduct daily safety checks and eliminate hazards proactively.
- Ensure all crews follow company and industry safety standards.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers and inspectors.
- Provide clear daily updates on progress, issues, and resource needs.
- Communicate expectations to crews so everyone knows the plan and the pace.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in excavation, site work, utilities, or heavy civil operations.
- Proven ability to run field operations and lead crews.

- Track record of boosting productivity while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate needs.
- Valid driver's license.
