Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Overnight Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain a variety of machinery used in construction, excavation, or other heavy-duty projects. The ideal candidate will have experience handling equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, and graders.
*Position is from 10pm-6am*
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues
- Load, move, or grade earth, rock, or other materials using equipment
- Follow project plans, blueprints, or instructions from supervisors
- Maintain worksite safety standards and comply with regulations
- Conduct routine maintenance, including refueling, lubricating, and cleaning machines
- Work collaboratively with ground crews and other machine operators
- Complete paperwork or logs related to equipment usage and site conditions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
- Certification from a recognized heavy equipment operator training program (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and hazard recognition
- Ability to read plans, grades, and blueprints
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and flexible hours
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and operating equipment
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and outdoor environments
Preferred Experience with:
- Excavators
- Bulldozers
- Cranes (if applicable)
- Front-end loaders
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
