We also provide snow removal services throughout the winter season.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. You’ll perform precision trenching and excavation for general sitework elements as well as water, sewer, drainage, and electrical utilities, often in a city setting and near live utilities.
Success in this role means safe, efficient production, accurate results, and strong communication with team and other trades. Candidates must be hard-working, team-oriented and have reliable transportation. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., work outdoors in all weather, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience required operating excavators on underground utility and sitework applications (or equivalent). Ideal candidate will have a keen industry interest and positive attitude. This position can start immediately.
There is an opportunity for this role to become an Operator Foreman position for the correct candidate if desired.
Position Duties / Experience:
> Operate excavators and other heavy equipment as required for utility and street work, working safely around existing utilities.
> Excavate to line and grade for new foundations, utilities, structures (manholes, catch basins), and other site elements; maintain trench boxes and shoring.
> Set and check grade using lasers/grade rods; read plans, profiles, and marks; coordinate with other crew members.
> Load, unload, and move materials and equipment on site; manage spoil, stone, and backfill/compaction.
> Perform daily inspections, routine maintenance, greasing, and minor repairs on equipment.
> Operate hand/power tools, light equipment, and basic survey instruments safely and efficiently.
> Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area while following all OSHA and company safety protocols.

> Knowledge of construction / heavy civil practices
> Solid mechanical knowledge & troubleshooting ability
> Proven experience working in street and around utilities in an urban setting a plus
